Steve began his career as a 5th grade public school teacher in San Jose, CA. His love for working with students, families and fellow educators to ensure all students have the opportunity to fulfill their dreams grew out of his four years teaching 5th grade. Steve then spent the next 14 years working as a teacher and assistant principal with KIPP Public Charter Schools in the Bay Area, Denver and Nashville.

Currently, Steve serves as the Director of Talent Development at Nashville Classical Charter Schools, where he helps to lead overall talent strategy, as well as the Lead Mentor Teacher/Resident Teacher program. Outside of school, he enjoys spending time outdoors in Nashville and time with his wife and two young children.
