Maya practices nonprofit and general business law. She began her legal career as a litigator, primarily defending clients in commercial litigation and white collar criminal defense matters.

She spent three years in-house with Hospital Corporation of America before joining Rocketship Education, a nonprofit network of nineteen charter schools, as Assistant General Counsel. She rose to General Counsel at Rocketship in 2016 and served in that capacity for more than six years.

Her broad and diverse background is a tremendous resource, offering the perspectives of a seasoned litigator, business executive, and nonprofit leader. For fun she enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and their two dogs, exercising, and investing in new technologies.
