AMY GALLOWAY
Amy Galloway spent 15 years working in schools in Nashville, Philadelphia, and New York City as a special education and general education teacher, an assistant principal, and a principal.
She was the principal of a neighborhood elementary school that was the lowest performing elementary school in the state. Under her leadership, the school moved from the bottom 5%, the priority list, to the top 5%, the reward list, within four years.
Amy transitioned to the Tennessee Department of Education where her work included role specific professional learning networks for principals, assistant principals, and principal supervisors across the state. For the programs she ran and oversaw, 98% of participants agreed or strongly agreed that “My professional learning and coaching experience had a significant impact on student growth and achievement.”
She is currently getting her doctorate at Vanderbilt University in K-12 Education Leadership and Policy.
Amy and her family live in Nashville and enjoy cheering on the Titans and Preds, PSU football, and exploring outdoors through the eyes of her two-year-old daughter.
